What did you enjoy most about your experience with A Little Something White?
My experience with ALSW was exceptional. It began when I went for my first visit to try on gowns. Kim was there to help me and was focused 100% on my needs. I found her to be attentive, thoughtful and knowledgeable. She also was personable and was fun to be around, so this made the experience even better! I was fortunate enough to have a big section of the salon to myself when I searched for dresses, making it a very personable experience for my mom, sister and me. I spent as much time as I needed to try everything on, making it completely stress free and eventually (after 3 hours!) I found my dress – the Amsale Chelsea. When I had originally seen the dress on the hanger, it was love at first sight and I knew I had to have it. Kim, my family, and I all agreed that the dress was very “Vogue” and therefore, my wedding dress dreams had come true!
Following that visit, everything from was a breeze. Kim and Ashley were responsive to me when I had a question, helpful in outlining the process and flexible with my timeline (most of my fittings I did at lunch during the week when I was at work!). During my fittings, Bridget, the tailor, was extremely knowledgeable, patient and reliable in terms of giving me the style I wanted and requested. Kim, Ashley, and Bridget were there at most of my visits giving me advice, thoughts, and suggestions on how to make things even more perfect. I never was worried about how things would turn out having their expertise always at arms reach. A few days before my wedding, I went to get my dress. Kim had steamed it and had it ready for the big day. I was excited, nervous, and had so much anticipation taking it home. I remember going 50 mph on 95 in the left lane driving home – nothing was getting in the way of me wearing my dress on my day! ALSW sent me the sweetest note cheering me on the morning of my wedding; sending love and support.
How did you and your husband meet?
My husband and I met on a bus ride home from work. We worked together at the same company, and as we were getting off the bus, I asked a group of people if they wanted to get a drink. Chris was one person that immediately said yes, moments after we had met. From there, we chatted over a beer or two and exchanged numbers and 2 years later we were married.
How and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged in the harbor point area in Stamford Connecticut. We took the water taxi to dinner and Chris got down on one knee after – right as the sun was setting in my favorite park. It was simple but perfect.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
My favorite part of my wedding day – there are so many! But I would say the part that stood out in my mind the most was Chris singing to me at the reception in front of all the guests. Chris had been in bands most of his life, so as a talented singer, he wanted to do something special. He chose Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be” and everyone was wowed by his performance. I was so proud and touched. It meant the world to me.
What surprised you most about shopping for your bridal gown?
How many options there are too choose from! I had always pictured traditional gowns like you see in Bridal magazines but ALSW had a vast selection. I never thought I would have chosen my dress if you had asked me before my ALSW visit but the selection helped me expand my horizons without a doubt.
If you could give a piece of advice to a bride going through the process now, what would it be?
Have an open mind and remember that your marriage is what matters the most, not necessarily the wedding. And no matter how much you fret, you will feel more special and more beautiful on your wedding day than you could ever imagine. You will be perfect!
